TMF is a member of the team that was awarded the Emergency Triage, Treat, and Transport (ET3) Model Implementation and Monitoring contract. This voluntary, five-year payment model was designed to allow Medicare Fee-for-Service beneficiaries access to the most appropriate emergency care at the right time and place. The model is testing new Medicare payments to ambulance suppliers and hospital-owned ambulance providers that consist of three interventions: Transport to an Alternative Destination (TAD), Treatment in Place (TIP), and Medical Triage Lines. These interventions realign incentives and create flexibility for participating ambulance providers and suppliers as they address emergency health care needs of Medicare beneficiaries following a 911 call. TMF staff provides implementation support, data collection and monitoring for this contract.
