Through the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI Advanced) Model, TMF Health Quality Institute supported health care providers and conveners with a voluntary, value-based payment model from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation (CMMI). The BPCI Advanced Model tested whether linking payments for a clinical episode could reduce Medicare expenditures while also maintaining or improving quality of care.
Running from Oct. 2018 through the end of 2025, the BPCI Advanced Model supported CMMI with the design, development and maintenance of the learning system, which helped accelerate successful outcomes by providing opportunities for sharing and collaborating on issues and methods that are critical to the organizations participating in bundled payment models. TMF developed and facilitated learning activities in which high-performing organizations shared their processes and approaches through several modalities, including affinity groups, action groups, change packages and case studies.
