Lisa Ehrlich, MD, and Jim Hine, CPA, Named to TMF Health Quality Institute Board of Trustees

Austin, Texas – Aug. 25, 2020 –TMF Health Quality Institute, a leading nonprofit health care consulting company, has named Lisa Ehrlich, MD, and Jim Hine, CPA, to the board of trustees.

Dr. Lisa Ehrlich is an active staff member at both St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital and Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. She received her Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Texas Medical Branch, and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center. Dr. Ehrlich has received a variety of awards, including the Texas Monthly Super Doctor (14 years), the American Medical Association Foundation Leadership Award, America’s Top Physician (two years), and she is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 2017, Dr. Ehrlich served as President of the Harris County Medical Society. She has been a Delegate to Texas Medical Association (TMA) since 2003. She has served on several TMA Councils and is currently a member of the TMA Council on Socioeconomics. She was previously the Vice Chair, and then the Chair, of the TMA Council on Healthcare Quality.

Jim Hine spent more than 35 years in Texas state government, culminating his career by serving as Commissioner and CEO for three major state agencies: the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, the Texas Department of Human Services, and the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services. He has served on a number of nonprofit boards, including the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature Foundation, the Center for Public Policy Priorities, and the United Ways of Texas. Mr. Hine holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Lutheran College and is a graduate of the Governor’s Executive Development Program at the University of Texas Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. In 2006 he retired from state government and opened Public Policy Solutions, a consulting and lobby practice, where he promoted innovative changes in legislation and state agency public policy in the areas of health and human services and child protective services until his retirement in 2019.
