Austin, TX – July 10, 2013 – TMF® Health Quality Institute, a leading nonprofit health care consulting company, announced today that it has selected Traci Whitney to serve as the executive director for its new charitable giving foundation for education and innovation to advance the delivery of health care.
The TMF Foundation, a 501(c)3, will contribute to public charities and engage in activities that help health care providers in multiple settings, including hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes and home health agencies, improve care for their patients.
Whitney has experience in both the nonprofit and health care industries. Prior to joining the TMF Foundation, she was the field developer for Autism Speaks where she managed the Greater Austin Walk Now event, raising more than $250,000 in 2012, which resulted in revenue growth of 191 percent for the event in a two year period. Whitney’s previous experience also includes having served as director of the Texas Dental Association Smiles Foundation and as the development director for St. David’s HealthCare.
“We are very excited to have Traci on board leading the TMF Foundation,” said Thomas J. Manley, President and CEO of TMF Health Quality Institute. “Her health care background and expertise in nonprofit management makes her ideal to oversee the Foundation’s goal of improving and advancing health care delivery.”
TMF Health Quality Institute has contributed $1 million of initial funding to the Foundation, and the Foundation’s board includes former members of TMF’s board of trustees and TMF staff. View a list of the TMF Foundation board.
“As health care in the United States continues to evolve and change, the TMF Foundation is in a unique position to have an important impact in shaping those changes for the better,” said Whitney. “I look forward to being part of the vision to improve the quality of our health care.”
