Austin, TX – February 12, 2015 –February 12, 2015 – The TMF Foundation has elected three new board members. They are: Jennifer Zimmerman, TMF human resources generalist; Rana Salman, Ph.D., VP of business development for Chasse Consulting; and Surendra Varma, MD, a pediatrician in Lubbock and associate dean for Graduate Medical Education at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Varma is currently a member of the TMF Board of Trustees and will assume his role with the foundation’s board in July. His term on the TMF board expires in April. The foundation has added a seventh position to the board.

The three newly elected members are filling the new positions on the board and replacing Libby Malone, whose term has expired, and Dr. Maya Bledsoe, who resigned. Other members of the board are its President, David E. Garza, DO, FACOFP, FAAFP of Laredo, Texas; Vice President, William D. Kiefer, MBA, RN of Bonham, Texas; Secretary, Brenda V. Ortiz of Austin, Texas; and Carla F. Ortique, MD of Houston, Texas.
