TMF Board of Trustees
The board of trustees is comprised of physicians elected from the TMF membership, non-physicians and consumer (Medicare) beneficiary representatives.
Number of Members
The TMF Board of Trustees has 18 members, composed of:
- 5 Doctors of Medicine
- 3 Doctors of Osteopathy
- 2 Consumer (Medicare) beneficiary representatives
- 7 Non-physicians
- 1 Immediate Past President
Length of Appointment
Trustees are elected for three-year terms and no person may serve more than six years.
Elections
Elections are held annually at the time of the TMF Annual Membership Meeting, which is usually held during the month of July. Each year, approximately one-third of the governing body is elected.

TMF Board Compensation
Trustees are compensated $1,000 for trustee and Executive Committee meetings for their time spent at the meeting, in preparation for the meeting, and for their time spent traveling to and from the meeting. Trustees are compensated for telephone conference call meetings of the trustees and/or Executive Committee at the rate of $100 per hour with a minimum of $100 per call. The president is compensated $1,700 per month for the additional time and resources required of this individual.
