Austin, TX - November 13, 2006 - TMF Health Quality Institute, a leading nonprofit health care consulting company, today announced the realignment of its business objectives to focus on growth opportunities while maintaining its role as the Texas Quality Improvement Organization for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
In response to a changing marketplace, TMF will pursue more consulting contracts to complement its existing contracts with federal, state and local governments, as well as private organizations. Under its contract with CMS, TMF partners with more than 1,000 Texas health care providers to promote quality services for Medicare recipients. Building on its more than 35 years of experience, TMF offers expertise in a variety of areas including health care technology, quality improvement and medical record review and analysis. With current or previous contracts in five states, TMF plans to expand its consulting services across the country.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 20 percent of Americans will be 65 or older by 2030. The 65 and over population will double within the next 25 years. With a growing older population, health care and health care issues are of increasing importance for citizens, the government and private institutions.
“The future of health care is a key concern for people,” said Dr. William Gamel, TMF chief executive officer. “Organizations are looking for ways to improve their efficiency and quality. With our experience and expertise, TMF can help them refine their programs and prepare for growing needs.”
TMF is dedicated to improving health care for all citizens and looks to increase influence and ability to instigate change for the better through its private consulting offering. In order to accomplish its business objectives while maintaining and effectively delivering on current contracts, TMF has internally restructured. TMF has organized its business offering, naming four new senior vice presidents.
